I really feel like JC Nelson is coming into their own with this novella. It was tight, the writing was concise, the plot was well formulated, and you got some character development as well. It's very well-written and it's well-worth the 2.99 on amazon. I love it when authors improve a series!Product details

Enjoyed this series
While trying to fend off a dangerous magical tattoo that is attempting to possess her, Marissa is on the trail of a dangerous being who is leaving carnivorous cherubs in his wake.
I liked this but it felt a bit more generic than the first book. That is probably since, as a short, it didn't go quite as deep into the relationships between the characters or that the angel/demon themed hunt didn't quite draw me in - but then again it might just be that I am also reading another book with a similar Fairytale/Investgation framework at the same time. You'll probably enjoy this more of you've read the first book and are familiar with the characters Marissa Lockes, her mirror bound Fairy Godfather boss Grimm and her Dragon boyfriend Liam.
I enjoyed this book and was happy the plot was not an extension of Free Agent. New story just as good as the first. Can't wait for the next
Referring to cherubs as Heaven's pigeons is a prime example of the voice and worldbuilding I love from J.C. Nelson.

I don't normally write reviews for books, I am not great at expressing my views. However, this book and the series is something I haven't come across before, I loved the book it was refreshing to read something totally different. I stayed up all night reading I couldn't put it down.
The more I read of Nelson's universe the more I really like it. In Soul Ink we see Marissa in her new role and just what her daily routine seems to be. It's a fun little story and shows just how well rounded these characters are and how much we still have to see through the agency and agents.
I really feel like JC Nelson is coming into their own with this novella. It was tight, the writing was concise, the plot was well formulated, and you got some character development as well. It's very well-written and it's well-worth the 2.99 on . I love it when authors improve a series!
